This document forms part of the binding legal framework for the Beg.com Platform. Please read it carefully. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of these terms as updated from time to time.
This policy explains how money moves on Beg.com: platform fees, payment-processor costs, refunds, chargebacks, withdrawals, and what happens if a campaign is rejected or suspended. It forms part of our Terms of Service. If anything conflicts, the Terms prevail except where mandatory local consumer law says otherwise.
1. Platform fees (Beg.com)
- Creating a campaign is free. There is no fee to draft, submit, or publish a push after approval.
- Beg.com platform fee: 10% of each withdrawal (payout). When an organiser withdraws raised funds, Beg deducts 10% from the requested withdrawal amount. The remainder (net) is what the organiser receives through the configured payout method, subject to verification and approval.
- Example: If an organiser withdraws the equivalent of 100.00 (in the campaign currency) and the platform fee is 10%, the fee is 10 and the net payout is 90.00 before any bank or payout-provider charges outside Beg.
- The current fee percentage is also shown in the organiser payout flow and on How it works. Beg may update the fee with notice via the Platform or this page; the rate in force at the time of a payout request applies to that request.
2. Payment-processor and bank fees
Donations are processed by independent payment providers (currently Stripe where enabled). Processors and banks may charge card or currency-conversion fees according to their own rules. Those costs are separate from Beg's 10% platform fee. The amount you confirm on the secure checkout page is the amount you authorise to pay.
3. Donations — refunds
Donations are generally non-refundable once successfully processed, because funds are raised for a stated campaign purpose and may already be committed or paid out.
Limited exceptions may apply where:
- required by mandatory consumer or payment-network rules;
- a payment was duplicated or clearly erroneous and has not been paid out;
- Beg reasonably determines a campaign was fraudulent or materially misleading and funds remain under Beg's control (not yet paid out);
- a chargeback or dispute is opened with the card issuer (handled under network rules).
To request a review, email support@beg.com with your donation date, approximate amount, campaign link, and payment confirmation. We may ask for identity verification. Opening a card dispute without contacting us first may delay resolution.
4. Chargebacks and payment disputes
If a donor disputes a charge with their bank, the payment provider may reverse the donation. Beg may withhold or reverse related organiser balances, suspend the campaign or account, and require cooperation with the investigation. Organisers remain responsible for funds they have already withdrawn if a later chargeback succeeds.
5. Campaign review and rejection
5.1 Before a campaign goes live
New campaigns may be reviewed by Beg before becoming publicly active. Beg may approve, reject, request changes, or ask for more information (including identity verification). Common rejection reasons include: misleading claims, prohibited content, incomplete or unlawful purpose, sanctions/fraud risk, or Terms violations.
If a campaign is rejected before it accepts donations, no platform fundraising balance is created for that campaign. The organiser is notified (including any reason provided) and may revise and resubmit where appropriate.
5.2 After a campaign is live
Beg may suspend, reject, or remove a live campaign if we reasonably believe it violates the Terms, applicable law, or poses fraud/safety risk. While suspended or rejected:
- new donations may be disabled;
- public visibility may be limited;
- withdrawals are blocked for rejected or suspended campaigns until the issue is resolved or funds are handled under compliance rules.
If donations were already collected, Beg may hold funds pending investigation, arrange refunds to donors where funds remain available and appropriate, or cooperate with payment partners and authorities. Organisers are not entitled to withdraw funds from a rejected or suspended campaign unless Beg expressly reinstates the campaign or authorises a compliance release.
5.3 Organiser notice
Where practical, organisers receive notice of rejection or suspension and a reason. Beg may act without prior notice when needed to protect users, comply with law, or stop ongoing harm.
6. Payouts (withdrawals)
- Organisers may request payout of available balances after the campaign has ended (or as otherwise allowed by Platform rules), minus the 10% Beg fee and any amounts reserved for disputes.
- Campaigns are time-bound (maximum 30 days unless settings change).
- Payouts require a valid payout method and may require identity or anti-fraud checks. Beg or payment partners may delay, refuse, or reverse payouts for compliance reasons.
- Rejected payout requests do not forfeit raised balances unless separately required by law or fraud findings; the organiser may correct issues and request again if eligible.
7. Taxes
Organisers and donors are solely responsible for their own tax obligations. Beg does not provide tax advice. Donations are generally voluntary contributions and are not equity investments.
