This document forms part of the binding legal framework for the Beg.com Platform. Please read it carefully. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of these terms as updated from time to time.
1. Controller and scope
This Privacy Notice describes how beg Inc. ("beg," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, transfers, and protects personal data in connection with the beg global crowdfunding Platform (websites, applications, and related services).
For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR, beg Inc. is the data controller of personal data processed through the Platform, except where we process data solely on behalf of a payment provider or other independent controller as described below.
By using the Platform, you acknowledge this Notice. If you do not agree, please discontinue use. Where consent is required by law, we will request it separately (for example, for non-essential cookies).
2. Categories of personal data
2.1 Data you provide

- Campaign data: titles, narratives, media, goals, location (country/postal), contact details, and expense disclosures;
- Donation data: donor name, amount, optional message, anonymity preference, and limited payment metadata returned by processors;
- Payout data: preferred payout method and details necessary to process withdrawals;
- Support communications: messages, attachments, and related correspondence.
2.2 Data collected automatically
- Technical and usage data (IP address, device/browser type, pages viewed, timestamps, referrers);
- Security and fraud signals, session identifiers, and authentication events;
- Campaign engagement metrics (including view counts and live presence indicators);
- Cookies and similar technologies, as set out in our Cookie Policy.
3. Purposes and legal bases
We process personal data for the following purposes and, where GDPR applies, on these bases:
- Contract performance: account creation, campaign hosting, donation facilitation, payouts, and customer support;
- Legitimate interests: Platform security, fraud prevention, product improvement, aggregated analytics, and enforcement of our Terms, balanced against your rights;
- Legal obligation: tax, accounting, sanctions screening, and responses to lawful requests;
- Consent: non-essential cookies/marketing where required, and certain optional communications.
4. Disclosures to third parties
We may disclose personal data to:
- Payment processors (for example Stripe, Polar, or PayPal, as configured) to process transactions and prevent fraud;
- Infrastructure, email, and security vendors acting under contractual confidentiality and data-protection terms;
- Campaign organisers regarding donations (unless marked anonymous), limited to information necessary for transparency and supporter acknowledgement;
- Professional advisers, auditors, and corporate transaction parties under appropriate confidentiality;
- Competent authorities where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and Platform integrity.
We do not sell personal information as that term is commonly defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising except where disclosed and permitted, with opt-out rights where applicable.
5. International transfers
beg operates as a global service. Personal data may be processed in the United States and other countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home country. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent transfer mechanisms, and supplementary measures as needed.
6. Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Notice, including to provide services, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. Retention periods vary by data category and jurisdiction. When no longer required, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised where feasible.
7. Security measures
We implement technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege practices, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; you use the Platform at your own residual risk.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data; to object to certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. California residents may have additional rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of certain sharing.
To exercise rights, contact privacy@beg.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We aim to respond within applicable statutory timeframes.
9. Children
The Platform is not directed to children under sixteen (16), or under thirteen (13) where that is the applicable threshold. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected such data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. Automated decision-making
We may use automated tools to assist with fraud detection, abuse prevention, and campaign review prioritisation. Significant decisions affecting access to funds may involve human review. You may contact us for more information where required by law.
11. Changes to this Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. The "Effective date" above will be revised accordingly. Material changes will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified through the Platform or email.
